In the last years the Mexican Slack Family has grown rapidly, through meet-ups and festivals around the country, so it’s active slackliners worked together to form the AMS – Asociación Mexicana de Slackline.

The Mexican Slackline Association seeks to support and develop the Slackline community in Mexico, protecting access, improving communication and information resources, and promoting its development in a safe and sustainable way nationwide.

The AMS is an organization made up of Mexican athletes motivated to promote the sport of slacklining in its different modalities, unifying and representing slackline clubs around Mexico.

The Mexican Slackline Association has been accepted as active member at the ISA General Assembly in August 2020.

Together with the IFT Stuttgart and Edelrid we performed some tests to figure out how cut-resistant slacklines are. Luckily we had some leftover webbing pieces from our long-term UV study. Check out the document on our data page and get a sneak peak by watching the video!

Thanks to Benedikt Franck at the IFT Stuttgart for conducting the experiment, thanks to the engineers at Edelrid for developing the machine and thanks to the UIAA Safety Commission and Richard Delaney.

One of the few competitions which could take place after the Lockdown was the Rigging Masters at Bern City Slack with 27 Participants from 6 countries!

The competitors had to prove their rigging and improvisation skills in 3 qualification rounds, a 6-person time trial in the semis and a direct shoot out with Augustin Moinat (CA) and Benoit Humm (FR) in the finals.

Rigging competitions are meant to be engaging for the participants and entertaining for the audience. They are not a serious measure of someone’s ability to rig slacklines. If you want to organise your own rigger comp, please feel free to contact us. We can help you with ideas for games, as well as organisational difficulties. You can also register your competitions with us and the participating riggers can get points on the ISA rankings list.
