Freestyle Highline Ranking List Winners 2025

2025 is over and we have the pleasure to meet the yearly winners in Freestyle Highline. Competitions are happening all around the world and finalists collect points depending on their ranks and the size of the competition (e.g. Masters, World Cup, World Championship..), giving them a final score at the end of the year.

The yearly winners in our system are defined by the sum of the highest points ranking at the two largest events they participated in 2025.

Representing various nations, these athletes have showcased exceptional skill and determination in this thrilling freestyle sport. Let’s celebrate their remarkable achievements and the inspiration they bring to the community!

Amanda‘s ISA Profile:

Amanda Montminy

Let’s meet Amanda, third place in the ranking 2025:

• Name: Amanda Montminy 
• Age: 24 years old
• Nationality: United States

Amanda Montminy’s entry into competitive freestyle highlining has been remarkably swift. Making her competition debut in September 2024, she quickly made her mark with 2nd and 4th place finishes at World Cups – impressive results for someone so new to the sport. Her rapid progression shows both natural talent and dedicated training in a short time frame.

Amanda’s signature trick, the Supersonic, has become her standout move in competitions. Her fresh approach and quick adaptation to the competitive scene have made her an exciting athlete to watch as she continues developing her skills and expanding her trick list.

Zoë Goultas

Freestyle Highline Female 2nd Place: Zoë 

• Name: Zoë Goultas
• Age: 26 years old
• Nationality: France

Zoe Goultas has shown rapid improvement since entering competitions in 2023. Throughout 2025, she consistently improved her placements, culminating in her first World Cup victory at GGBY after earning 3rd place at the Belgium Highline Festival Masters. Her progress demonstrates the value of consistent training and competitive experience.

Competing in four freestyle events in 2025, maybe more than any other athlete this year, Zoe has been a dedicated presence on the circuit. Always recognizable in her signature hat, she’s become a regular fixture at competitions. With her first World Cup win achieved, she’s built solid momentum heading into future seasons.

Cecilia Stock

The winner in the female category for Freestyle Highline 2025 : Chechi

• Name: Cecilia Stock
• Age: 31 years old
• Nationality: Germany

Cecilia Stock has defended her position at the top of women’s freestyle highlining, leading the year-end rankings for the second consecutive year. The reigning world champion won the World Cup in Brazil and Masters at BHF, maintaining her dominance in major competitions throughout the season.Cecilia has also raised the bar for women’s tricks in competition, notably landing the “Double Nevermighty” in competition – a trick she invented only a few months earlier. This marked the first competitive landing of this trick by any athlete, male or female. Her technical innovation and consistent performance have set the standard for competitive freestyle, establishing benchmarks that continue to challenge and inspire other athletes in the field.

Ian Eisenberg

Freestyle Highline male 3rd Place: Ian 

• Name: Ian Eisenberg
• Age: 36 years old
• Nationality: United States  

Ian Eisenberg, one of freestyle highline’s legendary figures, made his return to the top 3 of the yearly rankings for the first time since 2021. The new competition format seems to have suited him well, as he secured second place finishes at both Cirat Highline Festival and the Chooselife World Cup. 

What made Ian’s performances particularly memorable was his signature style – Ian-original-tricks that challenged the judges’ scoring systems. These unique moves, hard to assess for difficulty, reminded everyone why he’s considered a legend in the sport and brought a distinctive flair to the competition circuit.

Emil Breuer

Freestyle Highline male 2nd Place: Emil 

• Name: Emil Breuer
• Age: 29 years old
• Nationality: Germany

Emil Breuer is currently in top form. In 2025, he won both competitions he entered – the two highest level competitions in Europe, Cirat Highline Festival and Belgium Highline Festival. Already securing second place in the yearly rankings back in 2023, Emil has proven his ability to perform when it matters most.

His dominance was so complete that competitions seemed almost too easy for him. During his breaks between runs, Emil entertained audiences with breathtaking combos, showcasing a level of skill and confidence that went beyond what was required to win. His performances set a high bar for what’s possible in competitive freestyle.

Davis Hermes

The winner in the male category for Freestyle Highline 2025 : Davis 

• Name: Davis Hermes
• Age: 26 years old
• Nationality: United States  

Davis Hermes has solidified his position as one of the leading force in men’s freestyle highlining with World Cup victories at both Chooselife and GGBY in 2025. As the reigning vice-world champion from 2024 and the sport’s very first world champion in 2022, Davis brings both historical significance and current dominance to his top ranking.

With nearly 15 years in slacklining, starting as a trickliner and competing in freestyle highline since at least 2021, Davis has one of the longest and most accomplished track records in the sport. His technical mastery is particularly evident in his super technical double drop knee and inward drop knee tricks, which showcase the precision and innovation that have kept him at the forefront of competitive freestyle throughout multiple seasons.

LIVESTREAM – The third Highline World Cup of 2025

The epicenter of the 2025 World Highline

From June 18 to 22, more than 40 athletes from around the world gathered in Brazil for the Highline ChooseLife World Cup, a competition that captivated both athletes and the local public.

The impressive landscape of Chapada dos Veadeiros was the perfect setting for the Highline ChooseLife World Cup 2025. With the participation of more than 40 athletes from Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, United States, France and Germany, the event consolidated the region as one of the key destinations for slacklining in Latin America and the world.

In the words of one of the organizers, Matheus Wayne: “Choose Life” is a name that came with a mission we didn’t understand at first. But today it’s clearer to us, which is to provide access to our friends from all over the Americas, as a project that allows people to keep alive the dream of developing and growing in sports at a global level.
We are very grateful to the ISA for the unconditional support they have given us throughout this process, and for the opportunity to be a tool to take athletes who have dedicated themselves for many years and who want the opportunity to showcase their skills to the next level.”

Competition Modalities: Freestyle and Speedline

During four days of intense action, competitors competed in two high-level events:

Highline Freestyle and Speedline, each with male and female categories. The freestyle, which tests athletes’ ability to perform high-altitude acrobatics on the Ribbon, offered some of the most spectacular displays of the event. Meanwhile, speedline challenged the speed and endurance of the participants by completing the course in the shortest possible time on an innovative 17mm (dyneema + polyester) tape, 110 meters long and 120 meters high.

For many of the participants, this event represented a dream come true. 

Cecilia Stock, winner in both categories, shared her experience: 

“It was an incredible experience. It’s very inspiring to see women from around the world come together and participate, showing that women can achieve it.”

Davis Hermes also shared his experience:

“Its a privilege to be able to come and compete, to the first world cup in south America, I’m happy to be here and thankful for the opportunity.”

A Festival for Everyone

The Highline World Championship was not only a high-level sporting competition, but also transformed into a true festival open to the public. During the days of the event, attendees were able to enjoy live music, slackline workshops, and talks on adventure sports. Cultural exhibitions also enriched the visitor experience, creating an inclusive and festive atmosphere that brought athletes and the public together.

The event not only celebrated the process of the athletes, but also served to bring the highline to the local community. With more than 500 people attending the competition, Chapada dos Veadeiros received international recognition, consolidating its position as a key destination for adventure tourism and the Highline.

Ian Eisenber declares: “If you dream of the perfect freestyle Highline paradise, this would be it”.

International Collaboration and Institutional Support

The event received support from the International Slackline Association (ISA), which through its representatives of the commissions Sports and of Access and Nature: Juliet Tellez, Hugo Flores and Isidro Rocua, provided their organizational and technical support, guaranteeing the safety and success of the competition. Also the incorporation of the results in the International Slackline Ranking List.

In the words of Isidro ISA member, “This event has been a great example of the evolution of highlining, highlighting the hard work of athletes, both men and women, to overcome the barriers of the sport.”

Innovation in jury systems.

For the first time in a highline freestyle world championship, the innovative JAM format is implemented, where athletes must perform two tricks and a high-level combo over 9 or more attempts. This format allowed the athletes to develop new strategies and achieve gigantic level sporting results. It was implemented with a panel of 4 expert judges: Filipe Mattos, Isidro Rocua, Cecilia Stock (for men) and Gonzalo Caturelli (for women) and the international support of Augustin Moinat for the structure of the sheets.

Connecting the World Championship Circuit

A big surprise was provided by the organizers of the World Highline Competition in Zhangjiajie, China, who awarded two classifications for the top two places in the speedline category, one for men and one for women. This gesture encourages global partnership among organizers of slackline championships.

Commitment to the Environment

Sustainability was a priority for the organizers, who implemented strategies to minimize the event’s environmental impact. They promoted the use of recyclable materials, designated waste separation areas, and worked closely with local authorities to ensure the Chapada dos Veadeiros natural environment was fully respected.

The event also highlighted the importance of preserving this natural heritage. The beauty of the region, with its imposing rock formations and biodiversity, was an integral part of the experience for attendees and competitors, turning the championship into a tribute to nature.

This championship not only marked a milestone in the history of highlining, but also left a profound mark on the local community, the athletes, and all those fortunate enough to witness the competition. 

Cavalcante in Chapada dos Veadeiros has proven to be much more than a place for sport: it is a true meeting center for culture and adventure, which will continue to attract more people in the years to come.
