No conoc\u00edamos a las personas responsables de la organizaci\u00f3n y cu\u00e1l era su motivaci\u00f3n para organizar una copa mundial. El concepto escrito que nos enviaron fue bien pensado y describi\u00f3 una competici\u00f3n multidisciplinaria que fue m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de tricklining, por primera vez en una copa mundial, que encaja muy bien con uno de los principios de la ISA &#8211; la difusi\u00f3n de la diversidad de la slackline. Despu\u00e9s de una invitaci\u00f3n adicional para visitar el festival <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highline Extreme Cambotas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en Brasil justo despu\u00e9s de la copa, Thomas Buckingham y yo compramos nuestros boletos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La comunidad de slackline en Vi\u00f1a est\u00e1 muy bien establecida. Tienen un slackpark con grandes trocklines y un mont\u00f3n de opciones para l\u00edneas pedag\u00f3gicas en la Playa del Deporte, un lugar que se podr\u00eda comparar con <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Muscle Beach <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">en Santa M\u00f3nica, EE.UU. Para el evento, agregaron m\u00e1s opciones de trickline y ayudamos en la adici\u00f3n de una longline de 55m con A-frame. Este lugar muy accesible y frecuentado, que est\u00e1 subvencionado por la ciudad e incluso hay instructores de slackline pagados durante el verano, ha llevado a una escena slackline y trickline muy activa con talentos j\u00f3venes que entrenan regularmente. Para nosotros dos, procedentes de Berna, Suiza, donde principalmente practicamos longline durante primavera y oto\u00f1o y waterline todo el verano, esto era muy interesante de ver.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_814\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_1970-e1490193890342.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-814\" class=\"wp-image-814 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_1970-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-814\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">El slackpark de Libera Tu Mono<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La organizaci\u00f3n del evento fue llevada a cabo por un equipo joven, liderado por Isidro Rodr\u00edguez y ayudado por Nicolas C<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">henevier, Dafne Schneider, Camilo Duret, Matias Jim\u00e9nez y muchos m\u00e1s. Con su experiencia organizando <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slack That Beach<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> varias veces, una serie de concursos de trickline nacional y sudamericana, abordaron este desaf\u00edo de crear un evento a\u00fan m\u00e1s grande. Oficialmente, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/feslach\/?fref=ts\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">la federaci\u00f3n nacional de slackline de Chile, FESLACH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> llev\u00f3 a cabo el evento, mientras que la asociaci\u00f3n local <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liberatumono?fref=ts\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Libera tu mono<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> estaba efectivamente cuidando las cosas localmente. Para nosotros esta fue la ocasi\u00f3n perfecta para hablar con la gente poniendo en el esfuerzo de organizar la escena slackline en el pa\u00eds y estamos muy contentos de dar la bienvenida a la Federaci\u00f3n de Slackline de Chile como el primer miembro activo de Am\u00e9rica del Sur de la ISA!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3002.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-807\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3002-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La copa mundial en s\u00ed fue la primera organizada por una federaci\u00f3n nacional de slackline sin fines de lucro, basada en esfuerzos de voluntarios e incorpor\u00f3 una variedad de disciplinas de concursos, que permiti\u00f3 que la slackline muestre su diversidad. Los espectaculares concursos de trickline ocuparon un lugar central. Adem\u00e1s, hubo un concurso de trickline transfer con dos l\u00edneas paralelas, en las que equipos de dos atletas realizaron combos sincronizados muy impresionantes, dos concursos de longline y un concurso de speedline, para lo cual Tom\u00e1s y yo trajimos el sistema profesional de cronometraje (gracias a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/swissslackline\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swiss-Slackline.ch<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> para eso!). Para enmarcar todo el evento, instalamos high- y midlines el primer y \u00faltimo d\u00eda sobre el mar en las ciudades vecinas Valpara\u00edso y Conc\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_812\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_2155-e1490193829154.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-812\" class=\"wp-image-812 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_2155-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-812\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">120m de placer en la Roca Oceanica en Conc\u00f3n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las competiciones de trick longline y longline ciega, tuvieron lugar en la l\u00ednea de 55m a una tensi\u00f3n de base de aproximadamente 3kN. La longline ciega implicaba simplemente caminar la mayor distancia con los ojos vendados, entre dos marcas, aproximadamente 4m desde el final (por lo que se elimin\u00f3 la posibilidad de ca\u00eddas altas). El trick longline se juzg\u00f3 igual que los cl\u00e1sicos concursos en el sistema FESLACH, donde los atletas fueron juzgados mientras que estaban en la cinta. Primero en una calificaci\u00f3n y otra vez en la final con 2 resp. 3 minutos (esto tiene que ser un poco m\u00e1s largo en eventos futuros, 3-4 minutos para cada rider). Los atletas estaban surfeando, bounceando, haciendo trucos din\u00e1micos, exposiciones, movimientos est\u00e1ticos y cualquier otra cosa que surgieran (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/145260032618773\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">grupo de Facebook para Trucos en Longline e Highline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_829\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3456-e1490262836379.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-829\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-829\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3456-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-829\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ajustando la flecha de la arena en vez de la cinta.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La competencia de speedline fue un gran \u00e9xito con 55 personas que se inscribieron para la calificaci\u00f3n (dos carreras cronometradas), los 16 m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidos llegaron a la final. Un sistema de KO determin\u00f3 el ganador en carreras intensas de cabeza a cabeza, cada vuelte con tres carreras. Despu\u00e9s de cada carrera, el participante cambi\u00f3 entre las dos cintas paralelas, que eran 15m de largo con 8kN de tensi\u00f3n de base. Nos gustar\u00eda iniciar una discusi\u00f3n sobre la creaci\u00f3n de tales formatos de concurso, vinculados a una posible lista de clasificaci\u00f3n mundial de la ISA en diferentes disciplinas. Invitamos a las personas interesadas en unirse y obtener m\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n sobre eventos y voluntariado a dirigirse al <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1672146449715258\/?fref=ts\">grupo de Facebook<\/a>. Dejamos las dimensiones exactas de la cinta abiertas para la organizaci\u00f3n de las competiciones, as\u00ed como la forma de juzgar. Todos los sistemas de juicio tienen pros y contras, no estamos dispuestos a jugar uno contra otro, ya que claramente todos tienen desventajas y ventajas. En el futuro trabajaremos con voluntarios y organizadores de concursos para crear definiciones m\u00ednimas de seguridad e imparcialidad en los concursos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estamos muy contentos de haber tenido la oportunidad de visitar esta comunidad vibrante de slackliners sudamericanos y la energ\u00eda que aportan al deporte. We did not know the people responsible for the organisation and what their motivation was to organise a world cup event. The written concept they sent us was thought out and described a multidisciplinary approach that went beyond tricklining, for the first time at a world cup, which corresponds very well with one of the principles of the ISA &#8211; spreading the diversity of slacklining. After an additional invitation to visit the Cambotas Extreme Highline Festival in Brazil right after, Thomas Buckingham and I were sold and bought our tickets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[caption id=\"attachment_823\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"300\"]<a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3440-e1490262505449.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-823\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3440-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a> International slack-networking.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The slackline scene in Vi\u00f1a is very well established. They have a whole slackpark with big tricklines and plenty of starterline options at the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Playa del Deporte <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Sports beach), which can easily be compared to muscle beach in Santa Monica, USA. For the event, they added more trickline options and we helped in adding a longline of 55m with an A-frame. This very accessible and frequented location, that is subsidized by the city and even has paid slackline instructors during the summer, has led to a very active slackline and trickline scene with young talents training on a regular basis. For us two coming from Berne, where we mainly longline during spring and autumn and waterline all summer, this was very interesting to see.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_2120-e1490193909401.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-815\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_2120-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The organisation of the event was carried by a young team, led by Isidro Rodriguez, Dafne Schneider, Camilo Duret, Matias Jimenez and many more. With their experience from organising \u201cSlack That Beach\u201d several times, a national and south American Trickline contest series, they tackled this challenge of creating an even bigger event. Officially the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/feslach\/?fref=ts\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">national slackline federation of Chile, FESLACH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> carried the event, while the local association <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liberatumono?fref=ts\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Libera tu mono<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (release your monkey) was effectively taking care of things locally. For us this was the perfect occasion to talk to the people putting in the effort to organise the slackline scene in the country and we are very happy to welcome Federacion de Slackline de Chile as the first South American active member of the ISA!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The world cup event itself was the first organized by a non-profit, national slackline federation based on volunteers efforts and it incorporated a variety of contests disciplines, that allowed slacklining to put its diversity on display. The spectacular trickline contests took centre stage. Furthermore, there was a transfer trickline contest with two parallel tricklines, on which teams of two athletes performed very impressive synchronized combos, two longline contests and a speedline contest, for which Thomas and I brought the professional time measuring system (special thanks to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/swissslackline\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Swiss-Slackline.ch<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for that!). To frame the whole event, high- and midlines were rigged on the first and last day over the sea in the neighbouring cities Valpara\u00edso and Conc\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_2907-e1490193509592.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-802\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_2907-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blind- and trick- longline competitions took place on the 55m line at about 3kN base tension. Blind longline simply involved walking the greatest distance blindfolded, between two tapes, approximately 4m from the end (so the possibility of high ground falls was eliminated).Trick longlining was judged the same as the classic trickline contests in the FESLACH System, where athletes were judged while performing on the line. First in a qualification and again in the finals with 2 resp. 3 minutes (this has to be a bit longer in future events, 3-4 minutes per run). The athletes were surfing, bouncing, doing dynamic-tricks, exposures, static moves and whatever else they came up with (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/145260032618773\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Facebook group for Tricks on Long- &amp; Highlines<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[caption id=\"attachment_828\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"300\"]<a href=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3450-e1490262650656.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-828\" src=\"https:\/\/slacklineinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/IMG_3450-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a> Randley Freitas, 2nd place Trickline.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speedlining was a great success with 55 people signing up for qualification (two timed runs), the 16 fastest made it to the finals. A KO-system determined the winner in intense head-to-head, best of three, races. After each race, the participant switched between the two parallel speedlines, which were both 15m long and at around 8kN of base tension. We would like to start a discussion on the creation of such contest formats, linked to a potential ISA world ranking list in different disciplines. Interested people and volunteers are hereby referred to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1672146449715258\/?fref=ts\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISA &#8211; Slackline Contest Facebook Group for more information<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We leave the exact contest line lengths, heights and tensions open to the organiser and their potential spots, given we are provided with a risk assessment on application (underground, backups, materials used, etc.). Also the form of judging is not defined. All Judging systems have pros and cons, we are not willing to play out one against another, all have disadvantages and advantages. In the future we will work with volunteers and contests organisers on minimal definitions for safety and fairness at contests. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are very glad we had the opportunity to visit this vibrant community of mostly South American slackliners and the energy they bring to slacklining.
