Demographics Survey – The latest, largest and most comprehensive slackline study ever!
It’s time again for the Demographics Survey, about 5 years after the results of the last one came out.
By spending a bit your time you’re contributing to our community.
The survey aims to gather some socio-scientific information about the global slacklining community, e.g. the demographics, skills and motivation of slackliners and compare it to a similar study from 2013 and data collected by the ISA in 2016, 2018 and 2021.
This is important, because it helps us talk to land managers, insurance companies, partners, and other organizations about slacklining.
It should take between 20-45 minutes of your time (if you encounter questions which don’t apply to you feel free to skip them).
The survey is AWESOME. Please motivate your friends to take this survey and share it on your social media profiles.
Only with such data we can understand the slackline community and act in its interest!
The results will be published in 2027. All data (anonymized) will be accessible for non-commercial slackline-related research.
All the data from the previous surveys is lined up and will be directly comparable to this new survey.

History of Demographic Surveys
Back in 2013, a survey by Jürgen Röhm aimed to gather socio-scientific information about the global slacklining community, e.g. the demographics, skills and motivation of slackliners.
After that, the International Slackline Association added more questions to this survey in 2016. And to begin collecting data at regular intervals we gathered updated information through a follow-up survey in 2018 and in 2021. Some of these results from the previous surveys are shown below.
